I have been taking pictures since I was about 10 years old. The the only gift I asked for that Christmas was a camera. Somewhere along the line I became a photographer. I believe that the difference between taking pictures and being a photographer is huge. Taking pictures only requires a camera and a finger to press the button. Being a photographer requires the patience to wait for the good picture, an eye for the good picture, and an understanding of the equipment that you are using.
My real interest in all my art is color, everything from subtle to vibrant. Color drives my work and the way that light affects color makes it always changing and challenging.
My photography tends to focus on nature as two of my passions are hiking and kayaking, always with my camera at hand. Recently I have become more interested in the sky, cloud formations, the sun and moon. I am moving more and more into low light photography and challenging circumtances.
I hope you enjoy my photos.

Bonnie i REALLY like this picture. The color is just beautiful, and the way the tree swoops over the river in this sort of elegant diagonal line really drives me in. its like the calm before the storm, you feel this sense of peace, yet a current could be lurking around that bend. love it.
